when you say you're going to fuck the vibrating shoes

vs.

when the vibrating shoes actually arrive

They feel like slippers attached to incredibly heavy boot soles.

Whenever I step I can feel the actuators. Feels like a spring mass system of some type.

“I have to pair my ears to my feet” is an extremely 2021 statement.

“I have to update my shoe firmware” is an extremely 2021 statement

“Why are you lying face first on the floor?”

“I was updating firmware and bricked my shoes and now I can’t walk”

them: come over

me: can’t I’m updating the firmware on my shoes

them: actually yeah don’t come over

them: noooo you don't need haptic actuation for every single body part

me: haha shoes go brrrrr

Thanks to @SenkyDragon@twitter.com for reminding me that the biggest problem with these shoes can be stated in a single image.

Anyways if you're dumb like me and want vibrating everything here's a referral link for the Drop Labs EP-1 shoes, use the code "DROP20" to get $20 off. droplabs.com?grsf=xdppv0

Ok now on to reverse engineering the shoes.

They expose 2 BT2 profiles, A2DP and SPP.

Which brings up the question, how the hell does this work on iOS?

I didn't think there was SPP/RFCOMM capabilities there?

@qdot Googling I found serialio.com/faqs/whats-differ Maybe it uses BT LE on iOS. Another possibility is that it only acts as subwoofer on iOS.
